For the past few weeks, many in America, including our President and Vice President, have been discussing protests in the NFL. And many people on all sides are claiming to speak on behalf of veterans and servicemembers. But we know you can speak for yourself. So we wanted to actually hear from you and get your perspective instead of having others speak for you.
That's why, last week, we polled our members on your opinions on the recent NFL protests. And the results are in: veterans and servicemembers have a diversity of opinions on this topic, spanning the spectrum. We also found, unsurprisingly, that you are most interested in issues like hurricane responses, veteran suicide, and national security issues.
See the full results online at www.IAVA.org/anthem.
As always, we are fighting to ensure that veterans voices are heard. And we're grateful to the more than 8,000 of you who took the poll. To add your voice to the discussion, let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter and IAVA's Virtual Veteran's Hall.
We don't all agree on this issue. But we can all agree that our voices are important right now.
And together, we can make sure America is listening.
